Smash Hits: Seeing - and hearing! - is believing!

A MILLION THANKS to Helga who went on You Tube and found videos of performances of all our songs on this repertoire! What a job - and what interesting things she found. See for yourself by clicking on these links:

All Creatures Now

All ye who Music Love

Anvil Chorus

Hallelujah - Beethoven

Chorus of Hebrew Slaves

Lacrimosa - Mozart

Dirait-on

How Lovely is thy Dwelling Place

Jesus bleibet meine Freude - Bach

The Heavens are Telling

Zadok the Priest - Handel

Hallelujah - Handel

Silver Swan

Sure on this Shining Night

Two reflections:
First, these truly are "smash hits" of choral/classical repertoire. They seem all the more so as I realize that people actually have posted these performances on such a mass-media site.

Secondly, the two American pieces (Barber's Sure on This Shining Night and Lauridsen's Dirait-On) are both performed here by choirs in other countries (don't miss them - the Lauridsen is sung by a really wonderful choir in Buenos Aires; the Barber by a young Korean group). What a great sign of the ongoing health - and future - of our favorite music form!

Enjoy! And THANK YOU HELGA!
