Monday: Time to WORK

I think we're off to a great start with the AMERICAN LANDSCAPE repertoire.  And, after our first few rehearsals, we can see which ones are going to come easy and which ones will challenge us the most.  So this Monday, February 2nd, I want to try to focus on the latter... but not exclusively:
~Pinkham: let's work backwards (i.e., IV/III/II/I)  The second and fourth movements are easy to ignore but are pretty tricky, so we'll work on them especially.
~Bright Morning Stars - not familiar yet, but easy.
~Wood and Basket (from the Four Pastorales)
~I've Been in the Storm So Long - the challenge to this is making "the background" interesting and musically beautiful.  And there are a few BASS notes that need attention.
~Skip to My Lou (in "Songs from Old Plum Grove") - I'm afraid we're just going to have to drill this until we know it.  As I've said before, this is something you can individually practice by simply sitting and reading the words aloud in rhythm.  Just that will help us all do better - if you're so inclined.
~Footpints (as time allows).  This is not hard, but you'll be tire by this time!!!
See you on Monday night.  -GREG
