Yes, it's time to start rehearsals again! Wheeeee
For those who need the reminder: rehearsals are at Decker Hall on the campus of Pilgrim Place. 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. each Monday. We begin this Monday, September 14.
The first repertoire is built around Benjamin Britten's A CEREMONY OF CAROLS. Despite the fact that Britten lived in the 20th century (1913-1976), these carols are medieval and use Latin and old English texts. If you're interested, check out this translation.
Since we'll have a harpist to accompany the Britten, I have also programmed Kirke Mechem's SEVEN JOYS OF CHRISTMAS. Kirke Mechem is one of the nicest people in choral music - and it shows in his music. Read more about the Seven Joys here.
